Welcome to TWNY's Sock Guild

What is the Sock Guild?

The Sock Guild is a group of knitters who love socks and love to try new things. We meet the first Sunday of every month at The Whole Nine Yarns in Woodstock, Georgia. Each month, our designers create an original sock pattern for the members. We try to introduce new techniques each time, play with texture, get creative with construction, and challenge you just a bit. Since 2008, we have been designing socks for our members and enjoy every minute of it!

What yarns do you use?

Each month, we hand-dye a batch of sock yarn for that month's pattern. We use a variety of base yarns in varying gauges including 100% Merino wool, Merino/Alpaca Blends, "Tough Yarn" with 10% acrylic, Bamboo blends, and Silk blends. All our sock yarns are superwash, but please machine wash cold and lay flat to dry for best results.

What do Sock Guild Members Receive?

Members receive each month's pattern, a two-hour class on the first Sunday of each month, and have the option of buying the coordinating hand-dyed yarn. Once a year, we host a Dye Workshop to give members the opportunity to dye their own yarn and have a little fun in our dye kitchen. In addition, Sock Guild members may submit a pattern of their own design. Once or twice a year, we will feature a "guest designer" to create our monthly pattern.

How do you join Sock Guild?

Members pay an annual membership which includes the patterns, instruction, and dye workshop. We offer a renewal discount and a special Anniversary pattern for every year you renew your Sock Guild membership. The only requirement is that you have previous sock knitting experience.

Do I have to be an expert knitter?

Absolutely not! We have many members who join us after finishing their very first sock. We recommend that you give each pattern a try and always ask questions. We love to help. If you aren't enjoying that month's sock...put it down. You can save it for another day, or just keep it simple and knit a plain sock!

Where can I find pattern corrections?

We post any pattern corrections in the Patterns section, in each individual pattern's description. If you think you've found an error that we've overlooked, please contact us! info@sockguild.com

We LOVE designing and knitting socks! There's always room for more sock-knitters, so come and join the fun! Call The Whole Nine Yarns for more info or to sign up: (678) 494-5242.
